A Royal Day

Today our first stop was Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately the queen was not available for tea. Since a para-olympic race was happening, there was no changing of the guard ceremony today.  So we made our way to the London Tower, where we were also able to see part of a cycling race.

Touring the London Tower was very interesting, picturing what it would have been like to live in the medieval times-Kings and prisoners, knights in their armor, torture chambers, royal beasts and of course the glittering crown jewels!

A boat ride along the Thames brought us back to Westminster and then the subway back to our hotel. Supper was ribs (2 4 1) at Bill Wyman's (Rolling Stones) StickyFingers restaurant. Then another trip to the Tower Bridge to see it lit up.
