Name that Tune

1. Be Still and know that I am God

We started off our day at St. Paul's Cathedral. Entering the area under the dome and admiring all of the architecture, paintings and sculptures brought this song to mind. We followed an audio self-guided tour to learn more about the building. The dome is 111.3 meters high and weighs 65 000 tons. The mosaics depicting the song of creation from the Old Testament were added in 1896 because Queen Victoria thought the cathedral looked dull.

We decided to participate in the Eucharist, not really knowing what to expect. It was a short service ending with communion. All who wanted to, stood in line and were given a bread disk and then we sipped wine from a cup held by another priest. It was a special experience to share communion with people from different walks of life. We are now interested in learning more about the Anglican church.

2. I will walk 500 miles

This was the next song running through my head. We decided to try going to the changing of the guard again. With taking the tube, there is always a bit of a walk to get to your location. When we got there, we found it was cancelled again due to the Brits celebrating their Olympians and Paralympians now that it is all over. So back we went. Then we decided to try taking a tour of Fuller's Brewery. We knew we were supposed to make a reservation but thought a walk wouldn't hurt just to see if they had room. After a bit of a longer walk, we were out of luck again. When we got back to the hotel, our legs and feet were sore. It was time for a break!

3. Dancing in the Streets

For supper we went to Planet Hollywood in Piccadilly Circus, which is a circle with lots of action. There is a huge screen with advertisements, lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and theatres. It's a lively place. Our supper was delicious! We wandered around for a bit and followed the scent of cinnamon to a Cinnabon, which we couldn't resist. We bought one to share and headed back to our hotel for a coffee and night snack. We are total tube experts and hop from one to the next and can smoothly pull out our card to put through the enter and exit machines! What a lovely form of transportation! (in London everything is lovely-even guys say it all the time)
