Driving to Dresden

The drive from Munich to Dresden was about 5 hours. This time our Autobahn experience was much smoother. Our hotel is right on the pedestrian zone. Emily, our GPS lady, kept wanting us to turn onto pedestrian streets, which were crawling with people! Every day seems to have some type of adventure in it, as we figure out how each city, hotel, transportation system, restaurant etc. works. And just when we start to feel comfortable, it is time to move on.

We are very thankful that the adventures have not been too stressful and that everything always works out. Every day we feel so blessed with how God is taking care of us as we marvel at His works in this part of the world!

Our hotel is an apartment with a living room and kitchen. We found a grocery store within walking distance and bought a few things for our breakfasts and lunches. So now we can have as much coffee as we want! :) There is even a washing machine in our suite. Booking hotels online, you never  know what you will get and we have been so impressed with all of them so far.

After settling in, we walked around a bit and then had dinner at a restaurant. It had been 21 degrees during the day, but the evenings cool down quickly. We sat outside, but thankfully they had heaters. We love sitting in outdoor cafes, so we want to take advantage of as many opportunities as we can. The weather has been unusually warm, but unfortunately it looks like its not going to last too much longer.

We have a tour of the VW factory booked for Monday morning and found out it is just a 15 minute walk from here. Today I said we should have worn a pedometer for the whole trip to see how far we've walked.

Sorry we have no pictures today, since most of the day was driving. We still wanted to do an entry though, since we know so many of you are checking in on us daily. Thanks for all of your prayers! And thanks for the emails. We enjoy keeping in touch with life back home!

Have a great weekend!
